Spectrum Glazes

Category: Supplier Also called: Spectrum; Spectrum Stamp Last checked: 2026-09-22

What it is

Spectrum Glazes is a ceramic glaze and color supplier based in Concord, Ontario. The public site (spectrumglazes.com) presents kiln-fired glaze lines — floating, shino, opaque gloss, underglaze, rhinestone, raised accent, and raku — plus a product guide of numbered series and a distributor directory. Navigation also lists stamps, rollers, and brushes under Supplies. It is not a membership guild and not a community teaching studio. The site’s About page (/about/ and /about-us/), on this check, was an unused design template (lorem ipsum, “Awwards Competition 2018,” placeholder staff and counters). Those sentences are not company facts. Operative pages are the homepage, product guide, contact page, and distributor lists.

Who it’s for

Studios, schools, and potters buying Spectrum glaze series through a listed distributor, and anyone who needs the manufacturer’s Concord address and phone rather than a retail-store aisle. Several already-listed U.S. suppliers appear on Spectrum’s own U.S. distributor list (including Bailey Pottery and Continental Clay). This listing is the manufacturer, not those shops.

Why it’s listed

This is a first-party manufacturer site with a printed Bowes Road address, phone, product-series names, and a distributor directory — not a scraped marketplace card and not an Amazon storefront.

• Contact (homepage footer and Contact page — checked 2026-09-22): 273 Bowes Rd. Unit A1, Concord, ON L4K 1H8. Phone (905) 695-8355. Toll free 1 (800) 970-1970. The visible email on those pages is obfuscated; the contact-page protected address decodes to sales@spectrumglazes.com. No public retail days or hours are printed on the contact page. Do not invent a walk-in schedule.
• Homepage product claims (checked today), as written on each block: Cone 4/6 Floating glazes — lead-free and dinnerware safe. Cone 4/6 Shino — lead-free and dinnerware safe. Underglazes — lead-free, dinnerware safe, and A/P non-toxic. Low fire cone 06/04 Opaque Gloss — lead free. Raised Accent Colors — slip-based. Raku — lead-free and require a raku firing. A Cone 4/6 Opaque Gloss block on the same page also mentions “Cone 5 Stoneware Reactive” glazes as lead free. Treat each line’s own sentence as the claim; the page does not print a single safety rule for every SKU.
• Product guide (/product-guide/ — checked today) names series without dollar prices: 1100 Cone 4/6; 1200 Cone 9/10; 1500 NOVA; 700; 800; 900 Low Stone; Raku; Satin; 100 Crackle; 300 Majolica; 400 Superstrokes; 500 Underglazes; 600 One-Strokes; Superwriter Pens; Raised Accent Colors; Glaze Crystals; Ceramic Stains; Oxide Pens. The glazes category index groups High Fire, Low Fire, Mid Range, Raku, Specialty, and Underglazes. No pint or jar dollar price was printed on the product guide or the glazes category page on this check. A cart widget showed $0.00 / 0 items. Do not invent a jar price.
• Distributors (/distributors/ and the U.S. full-line list — checked today): the site sends buyers to distributors and prints the same Concord address. The U.S. full-line list includes, among others, Axner (Oviedo, FL), Bailey Pottery (62 Tenbroeck Ave., Kingston, NY), Highwater Clays (Asheville, NC, and a St. Petersburg, FL line), Ceramic Supply Inc. (Lodi, NJ), and Continental Clay Co. (1101 Stinson Blvd. NE, Minneapolis, MN), each with a series code list (1100, 1200, and so on). Stock at a distributor is not stock at the Concord address.

The address, phones, series names, and “no dollar price on the product guide” note are what the official pages showed on the check date. Distributor inventories change. Use the live product guide, contact page, and distributor list before treating any line as in stock.
