Columbus Clay

Category: Supplier Also called: Columbus Clay Company; Columbus Clay Co. Last checked: 2026-09-15

What it is

Columbus Clay Company is a Columbus, Ohio ceramics supply house that sells moist clay (house Columbus Clay bodies, Standard Ceramic, Laguna), glazes (Amaco, Mayco, Columbus Clay stoneware), tools, kilns, pottery wheels, slab rollers, pugmills, and studio equipment through its official online shop and a public showroom / warehouse. The homepage: “your complete source for ceramic supplies. Since 1939 we have been supplying high quality products at low prices.” Site About copy on category pages: ceramic engineers on staff for technical advice; clays, chemicals, glazes, colors, and supplies packed for shipment. A Repair Services page covers kiln and equipment repair for brands they sell (Amaco, Brent, Shimpo, Skutt, Vulcan) and assistance with AIM, Cress, Evenheat, L&L, Olympic, and in some cases Paragon and Duncan — plus wheels, slab rollers, and pugmills — across Ohio and surrounding areas. It is not a membership guild and not a drop-in class studio.

Who it’s for

Studio potters, schools, production shops, and hobbyists who need moist clay, glazes/tools, kilns, wheels, or materials shipped or picked up at the Chambers Road Columbus showroom. This is a supply house with an official shop URL, not a guild membership hall.

Why it’s listed

This is a first-party supplier operation with a printed showroom / warehouse street address, published Monday–Friday hours, an official online shop (columbusclay.com) with on-page moist-clay and pottery-wheel list prices, and a written repair-service page — not a scraped directory card and not an Amazon storefront.
