What it is

Aardvark Clay & Supplies is a moist-clay manufacturer and ceramics-supply house in Santa Ana, CA. The About page: founded in 1972 in Santa Ana “with the purpose of manufacturing quality clays and basic materials for the studio potter,” later expanded into potter’s wheels, kilns, tools, and related materials. Homepage banner: “Comprehensive Supplier For The Ceramist” — clays, glazes, kilns, potter’s wheels, tools, slips, underglazes, frits, stains, chemicals, refractories, books, and gift certificates. It is not a teaching studio and not a membership guild.

Who it’s for

Studio potters, production potteries, schools, and contemporary or traditional studios who need moist clay, dry materials, kilns, wheels, glazes, or tools shipped from Santa Ana or picked up will-call. About page also names hobby ceramists, sculptors, mold makers, doll makers, and muralists. Ordering and Shipping pages: all internet orders originate from, and ship from, the Santa Ana facility. This is a supply house and will-call warehouse, not a class studio.
