What it is
The PennOhio Clay Guild (POCG) is a volunteer-led nonprofit clay artists’ collective serving Western Pennsylvania and Eastern Ohio. Homepage: dedicated to making ceramic arts accessible across the region; in 2024 POCG purchased a building in downtown New Castle, PA, and is building it into a fully equipped clay studio and resource hub. Membership and Main Clay Studio pages describe Supporting, Studio, and Satellite membership types; a communal Main Clay Studio with 24/7 access for Studio members; artist suites; and a Clay Shoppe “soon to be” provider of supplies. It is not a commercial clay manufacturer and not a drop-in franchise teaching studio — membership is contribution-based and members are expected to contribute time/talent as well as treasure.
Who it’s for
Aspiring and established clay artists (and pottery enthusiasts) who want guild community plus studio access on a sliding-scale contribution model; Satellite members who keep a home studio but want library/day-pass access; and supporters who fund the guild without studio needs. Distinct from statewide or metro guilds already listed elsewhere. Not a substitute for a retail clay warehouse.
Why it’s listed
This is the first-party PennOhio Clay Guild domain (pennohioclayguild.org) with a printed Jefferson Street address, printed sliding-scale contribution tiers, Main Clay Studio resource list, and cooperative/volunteer identity — not a scraped directory card.
