What it is

The Clay Studio is a nonprofit ceramic-arts studio and school in Philadelphia, PA. Its About page says it inspires curiosity and discovery around the art and craft of clay, drawing together students, artists, and an engaged public. The Mission & History page says it was founded in 1974 by five artists who needed workspace, became a 501(c)(3) educational institution in 1979, and is committed to “ensuring the space, support, and inspiration necessary for expression and learning in the ceramic arts.” It is not a guild and not a clay supplier.
